Sivagangai Diocese - 2001
A Parish dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi came into being on 15 June 1997 at Okkur. The Parish takes care of 10 substations in all. We built “Kaviyalaya” in order to take care of the pastoral needs of the people in October 2001. We also constructed St. Clara Home for the orphans and the poor boys stayed here and attended the local Schools. We had to close down the orphanage in 2014, since admissions decreased.
